[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] On August 7, Webzen announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2024.

For Q2 2024, Webzen reported revenues of 48 billion won, a 13.06% increase compared to the same period last year (Q2 2023). However, operating profit declined slightly by 0.36% to 11.8 billion won. Net income for the quarter was 13.9 billion won, marking a 5.67% increase.

Compared to the previous quarter (Q1 2024), revenues decreased by 21.83%, operating profit fell by 34.39%, and net income dropped by 32.59%.

The growth from the successful release of the new game "MU Monarch" in the second half of last year continued into the first quarter, but revenue stabilization impacted Q2 performance.

Webzen anticipates that the upcoming release of "MU Monarch 2" in the second half of 2024 will drive performance growth for the latter part of the year.
