[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] AliExpress, China's Alibaba Group's overseas direct purchase platform, will be a witness to the National Assembly's parliamentary audit.

Amid recent controversy over the distribution of "counterfeit goods" in the local open market, lawmakers are expected to continue their intensive offensive against it.

According to the National Assembly on the 11th, the National Policy Committee adopted Ray Jang, CEO of Ali Express Korea, as a witness during a parliamentary inspection of the Fair Trade Commission slated for the 16th.

Ali Express is the overseas direct purchase platform of Alibaba Group, China's largest e-commerce company, and set foot in Korea in March. Since then, it has been closely chasing domestic e-commerce platforms, with the number of domestic users exceeding 5 million in August.
