[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hanwha Ocean will face off again in the Polish maritime facilities project following the Defense Acquisition Program Administration's recent bid to win a contract to build the Navy's next frigate.

According to the shipbuilding industry and foreign media on the 30th, bidding for Poland's floating liquefied natural gas storage and re-emergence facility (FSRU) project has recently begun. The project will be between 170,000 and 180,000 cubic meters, and will be carried out in India in August 2017 and 2028 under operating conditions.

Among Korean shipyards, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hanwha Ocean are reportedly scheduled to participate. FSRU is a facility that can store gas brought by LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) carriers as liquid, re-emerge them when necessary, and supply them to the land through underwater pipelines.

In particular, it is attracting attention as an alternative to the LNG terminal because there are not many additional facilities and initial investment cost and time compared to the land LNG terminal.

The unit price of orders is expected to reach about 500 billion won.
