[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Eastar Jet will operate the Gimpo-Jeju route as early as late March. It has been three years since the flight was suspended due to the COVID-19 incident in March 2020.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 28th that it has completed the safety operation system inspection of Eastar Jet and reissued the International Air Transport Business Certificate (AOC). AOC is a kind of safety license that global airlines receive from their own governments. Safety personnel, facilities, and maintenance support systems will be obtained.
Eastar Jet aims to re-operate from Gimpo to Jeju on March 26. Eastar Jet, which has three Boeing 737-800s, plans to expand its international flights and other future flights through the introduction of new aircraft.
