[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, May 27 — Ecopro Innovation has signed its first supply agreement with a global automaker, marking a key milestone in expanding its customer base beyond battery cell manufacturers.
Under the deal, the company will supply 12,000 tons of lithium hydroxide over four years—enough to support the production of approximately 200,000 electric vehicles. The agreement is expected to contribute significantly to future earnings growth.
Ecopro Innovation previously signed long-term supply contracts with Samsung SDI and SK On, but this marks its first direct partnership with an automaker.
The company attributed the deal to its European production base in Debrecen, Hungary, and its closed-loop recycling system, which enhances regulatory compliance under evolving EU battery rules.
Following a return to quarterly profitability in the fourth quarter, Ecopro Innovation expects continued performance improvement driven by expanding global demand and supply chain competitiveness.
