[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] EcoPro is investing approximately 60 billion won in the capital increase of its family business, EcoPro HN, which is entering new industries.

As the holding company, EcoPro’s move is interpreted as a commitment to actively support EcoPro HN’s expansion into new ventures such as semiconductors and secondary battery materials.

On September 25, EcoPro announced that it would invest a total of 60.6 billion won (based on the planned issuance price) in EcoPro HN’s capital increase, securing 1,715,695 common shares. EcoPro, as the largest shareholder of EcoPro HN, will acquire additional shares up to the maximum over-subscription limit of 20%, beyond the 1,429,746 new shares it is allocated.

Recognized for having top-notch expertise in environmental business, EcoPro HN has been leading the environmental industry by producing and supplying greenhouse gas reduction solutions and chemical filters. The company plans to diversify its business into semiconductor and secondary battery materials and raise investment funds through this capital increase.

EcoPro HN is set to finalize the issuance price in December and will proceed with the capital increase subscription process, with the new shares expected to be listed on December 26. Additionally, EcoPro HN aims to raise a total of 200.2 billion won through this capital increase, with about half of the funds earmarked for expanding new business areas.
