SK Ecoplant Considers Sale of Environmental Subsidiaries Renewus and Renewon

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SK Ecoplant is reviewing the potential sale of its environmental management subsidiaries, Renewus and Renewon.


According to industry sources on Wednesday, SK Ecoplant is in discussions with multiple domestic and international private equity funds (PEFs) regarding the sale of its 75% stake in Renewus and 100% stake in Renewon.


Renewus (formerly Environmental Facilities Management), acquired by SK Ecoplant in 2020, is the leading operator in public sewage and wastewater treatment. SK Ecoplant holds a 75% stake in the company.


Renewon is a waste incineration company that SK Ecoplant acquired in 2021 as part of its strategic transition from construction to environmental and energy sectors.


The estimated total sale price for Renewus and Renewon is approximately 2 trillion won.
