[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Recently, Hyundai Motor and Kia have recalled major vehicles (voluntary correction of manufacturing defects) or free repairs, sparking controversy over quality and controversy over vehicle completion.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the industry on the 7th, Hyundai Motor and Kia have recalled 15 times this year. In February, IONIQ 5 51,471 vehicles, Hyundai Motor's electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) model, were recalled due to a defect in releasing the parking brake (P) by itself when the car was opened due to a software error in the vehicle control system.

The Kona EV and Porter 2 EV have been found to have a possibility of starting off while driving due to poor integrated power control (EPCU).

Kia Carnival put more than 190,000 units on the recall list for the possibility of being caught in body and other injuries due to its failure to recognize objects when the sliding door is closed. Five models, including the Genesis G80, have recalled some 270,000 units due to faulty parts in the front seat belt regulator.

The most problematic problem was found in the Hyundai New Grandeur model, the new GN7. General Grandeur models had poor communication between vehicle controls and parking sensors, while 11,200 and 14,316 hybrid models were recalled due to errors in setting up electronic brake software, respectively.
