[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] LG Electronics will establish a new enterprise resource management (ERP) system for the first time in 16 years and start pilot operation early next year.

LG Electronics has started building ERP systems using SAP solutions from German software (SW) companies since early this year and is currently collecting opinions on functions for executives and employees. As early as the first quarter of next year, it is expected to start pilot operations for domestic corporations and open the system within the second quarter at the latest.

LG Electronics decided to replace the existing Oracle ERP last year and set up a task force (TF) to prepare for the replacement of the SAP system. When the new ERP is in operation next year, it will be the first new system in 16 years since 2008.

LG Electronics plans to build an optimized system focusing on data-driven business innovation and future preparation.
