[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Samsung C&T's construction division (Samsung C&T) has taken a leap forward in the green hydrogen business.
Participate in hydrogen transportation and storage plant construction project in cooperation with Japan's Chiyoda Corporation.
As a result, the business scope will be expanded from the existing green hydrogen business value chain (value chain) to hydrogen production and supply as well as hydrogen transportation.
Samsung C&T announced on the 30th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chiyoda Corporation in Yokohama, Japan, using the 'SPERA hydrogen' technology.
Chiyoda is Japan's leading engineering company focusing on LNG· petrochemicals.
Meanwhile, in November 2021, Samsung C&T decided to strengthen active support and cooperation in green hydrogen production and infrastructure expansion through a comprehensive business agreement with the Saudi Ministry of Investment (MISA).
In January last year, Samsung C&T, POSCO, and the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund (PIF) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the green hydrogen business.
In February last year, it signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Korea National Oil Corporation, Korea Southern Power Co., POSCO, and GS Energy to promote the construction of a hub terminal in the East Sea area that introduces, stores and supplies green hydrogen and ammonia produced overseas.
