[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Woori Bank announced on the 16th that it has issued KRW 300 billion worth of new KRW capital securities (depreciated conditional capital securities).

The new capital securities are permanent bonds with conditions for early repayment rights (call options). It was originally scheduled to be worth a total of 270 billion won, but decided to increase the amount to 300 billion won due to high demand of nearly 1.63 times the initial recruitment amount due to high interest from retail-based investors and institutional investors. The issuing rate is 5.38%.

Woori Bank is expected to see its BIS (Bank for International Settlements) ratio rise by about 0.18 percentage points as it successfully issued new capital securities following the issuance of 400 billion won in subordinated bonds in May.
