[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] SK Telecom announced on the 20th that it has released a "quantum cryptography chip" that combines a quantum random number generator (QRNG) chip with a cryptographic communication function semiconductor.
This next-generation security chip will be unveiled for the first time at the Mobile World Congress (MWC23), the world's largest mobile communication exhibition in Barcelona, Spain.
Quantum cryptography one chip is an ultra-light, low-power next-generation security chip applied to various products based on the Internet of Things (IoT). Security technologies such as quantum-based encryption key generation technology and physical replication prevention technology (PUF) have been applied. It was developed by IDQ, a subsidiary of SK Square, and KCS, a domestic security company.
Quantum cryptography chip is a form of adding quantum random number function to KCS chip, which has been certified by the National Intelligence Service for second-class cryptography module verification (KCMVP), the highest security level among domestic cryptography chips.
SK Telecom expects Onechip to be actively applied to various products in the national defense and public markets.
