[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The number of domestic users of Apple's simple payment system, Apple Pay, exceeded 600,000 on the second day of its launch.
According to the industry on the 22nd, more than 600,000 people have registered for Apple Pay from the previous day to the morning of the day. On the first morning of its release alone, the number of subscribers exceeded 170,000, and the following day, steady interest continues.
"About 170,000 people registered for Apple Pay this morning alone, and more people will be able to experience an easier payment method in the afternoon," said Chung Tae-young, vice chairman of Hyundai Card, at a meeting held in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul in the morning of the previous day.
From the previous day to this day, many users suffered from errors in Apple Pay service registration and payment. Hyundai Card says a temporary error occurred due to a large number of users.
Initially, Hyundai Card said it would be able to resolve errors in the payment system earlier in the day, but so far, the normalization of the payment system has been delayed for unknown reasons.
