[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Labor unions at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, and other affiliates under the HD Hyundai shipbuilding group have declared plans for a joint strike.
The three unions stated they will hold two weeks of intensive workplace-level negotiations through August 29. If no agreement is reached, they plan to launch a collective strike in the first week of September.
Earlier, a tentative wage agreement reached between HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and its union was rejected in a vote by union members.
