[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] As the refund issue with TMON and Wemakeprice spreads, payment platforms are opening channels for consumers to process refunds.

On the 28th, Kakao Pay announced it will open a reception channel starting at noon through the Kakao Pay app and KakaoTalk customer service center. Consumers can apply for payment cancellations by providing their TMON or Wemakeprice purchase details, order history, and delivery status. Kakao Pay aims to process these requests and provide refunds as quickly as possible, though high request volumes may cause delays.

Kakao Pay stated, "To prevent prolonged user inconvenience, we decided to implement more proactive protection measures before TMON and Wemakeprice's actions. We will do our best to minimize the impact on users."

Naver Pay will also process cancellation and refund requests within 48 hours after consumers submit screenshots of their payment and purchase history pages from TMON or Wemakeprice. Consumers should apply through a specific URL provided in the Naver Pay notice on the morning of the 28th. For faster processing, users who have already applied for cancellations and refunds through their credit card companies should also submit requests to Naver Pay separately.
