[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The Proxy Advisory. Firm voted against the appointment of former lawmaker Kim Dong-chul as president of Korea Electric Power Corp

Sustinvest, an evaluation agency specializing in environment, society, and governance (ESG) and voting rights advisor, opposed Kim Dong-chul's appointment as president of Korea Electric Power Corporation.

According to the financial investment industry on the 12th, Sustinvest recommended opposition to the appointment of the president, which is scheduled to be voted on at KEPCO's extraordinary shareholders' meeting. Sustinvest said, "There is not enough information to verify management ability."

As the new president, he lacks grounds to determine whether he has the ability to operate the organization, the financial capacity to improve the trillions of won deficit KEPCO is currently facing, and the energy industry expertise needed to cope with the climate crisis.
