[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo, who is suspected of hiring, appealed to the Supreme Court against the second trial's conviction.

Hana Financial Group said on the 28th that Ham Young-joo's lawyer filed an appeal with the Seoul Western District Court's Criminal Appeals Department 1 (Presiding Judge Woo In-sung), which reviewed the appeal on the 24th.

The second trial court destroyed part of the acquittal of Chairman Ham, who was indicted on charges of obstruction of business and other charges, and sentenced him to six months in prison, suspended for two years and a fine of 3 million won.

Ham is suspected of manipulating the scores of applicants who failed by intervening in public recruitment of new employees at the request of an acquaintance when he was president of Hana Bank in 2015.

He is also accused of violating the Gender Equality Act by discriminating against new employees from 2013 to 2016.

The second trial court admitted the charges, saying, "Due to the evidence, Chairman Ham is believed to have been involved in the selection of successful candidates for the camp interview and is believed to have been involved in the selection of new employees in violation of the Gender Equality Act."

In response, Chairman Ham expressed his intention to appeal shortly after the trial, saying, "I will be judged by the court again."
