[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The Ministry of Employment and Labor said on the 22nd that it is in the process of supervising Samsung BioLogics' headquarters in Songdo, Incheon.

The move came two days after a petition was filed on the 20th asking for labor supervision over allegations of harassment at work regarding a man in his 20s who was found dead on the 16th.

The petition for labor supervision, received by the Employment and Labor Office in the central part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, reportedly said that the employee was criticized for "a lower evaluation" and "the first priority of forced transition deployment" from the head of the department before he died. There were even malicious remarks such as "I wish your car was on fire" and "I wish your leg was broken."

Because of this, the deceased employee was reported to have received labor counseling due to conflict with the head of the department from the second half of last year until recently.

After the employee's death, the company's labor union is said to have called on the company to conduct a "full investigation into harassment in the workplace involving the union."

An official from the Ministry of Employment and Labor said, "We are looking into the overall work culture as well as suspected workplace harassment."
