[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] E-commerce company Coupang will enter the store POS terminal market. It is a move with synergy with the delivery platform 'Coupang Eats' in mind. Following Toss and Barogo, tech companies are competing for offline POSCO businesses.

According to the industry, Coupang has recently formalized the launch of its POSGI business in some parts of Seoul under the brand name 'Coupang Force'. We opened an official YouTube channel, conducted free trial marketing for restaurant owners, and secured market share.

Coupang previously announced its entry into the POSGI market in 2021 by acquiring Jinseung Information Technology's iPad-based force system 'Mug Force' division. After two years of preparation, the market was determined to be in full swing and went on a drive through a full-fledged trial run.

The Coupang Force feature is an 'all-in-one solution' that integrates seven functions.

Pintech company Toss (Viva Republica) is also expanding its payment terminal business through its subsidiary 'Toss Place' from March this year. It has improved in terms of design and space efficiency compared to existing POS machines, and is taking an offensive to secure stores that are introduced.
