[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Prosecutors investigating KT Group's "Tunneling allegations" on the 10th sought an arrest warrant for those involved, including Hwang Wook-jung, CEO of its subsidiary KDFS.

It is the first time since the prosecution raided KT's headquarters and others in May to secure recruits.

The Fair Trade Investigation Department (Senior Prosecutor Lee Jung-seop) at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office requested an arrest warrant for Hwang on charges of breach of trust and embezzlement and breach of trust under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes.

He also sought arrest warrants for senior secretary Hong of KT headquarters' management support office, general manager Lee, and KDFS executive director Kim, a former managing director of KT Telecop, on charges of violating the Fair Trade Act and breach of trust.

Prosecutors are investigating allegations that KT has been driving facility management of its affiliates to KDFS and KSmate and penalizing two other companies since former CEO Koo Hyun-mo took office in 2020.
