[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Cowintech, a battery automation system company, announced on the 13th that it has signed a supply contract worth 104.2 billion won with a global customer.

This case is 51.8% of annual sales in 2022. The contract period is until July 27, 2025. The other party to the contract and the supply area will be reserved until the expiration date of the contract due to reasons for maintaining managerial confidentiality.

Cowintech recorded a backlog of 350 billion won at the end of the first half of this year. Including new contracts, the current order backlog exceeds 450 billion won. As additional orders are expected not only in North America and Europe but also in Korea, the amount is expected to grow further.

Currently, Cowintech is said to have raised the automation rate of battery customer processes to 80-90% through its own technology. In addition, a new type of unmanned vehicle (AGV) specialized in battery mixing, assembly, and activation is under development.
