[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The High Court's ruling on the conflict between Coupang and LG Household & Health Care, which has been going on for four years since 2019, is scheduled to come later this month.

According to the industry on the 16th, the Seoul High Court will rule on an administrative suit filed by Coupang against the Fair Trade Commission on the 31st.

The lawsuit began in June 2019 when LG Household & Health Care reported Coupang to the FTC on charges of violating the Distribution Industry Act and the Fair Trade Act. This is because Coupang forced suppliers such as LG Household & Health Care to raise sales prices at rival online malls such as 11th Street and Amazon.

In August 2021, the FTC imposed a fine of 3.297 billion won, judging that Coupang violated the law, including management interference. Coupang filed an administrative suit in February last year in protest. However, no matter what conclusion the court makes, it is widely expected that it will proceed to the Supreme Court's appeal.
