[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The National Tax Service has launched a tax probe into game company Krafton, known for its "Battleground." Game companies are under a series of tax audits in the tax industry

It is believed that the National Tax Service is looking into blockchain and coin-related businesses.
According to Crafton and related industries on the 19th, the National Tax Service has recently dispatched personnel from the Seoul Regional Tax Office Investigation Bureau 1 to the Crafton headquarters located in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu.

The tax probe is the first of its kind since Krafton was listed on Aug. 20, 2021.

In addition, the National Tax Service is reportedly looking into the flow of operating funds that Krafton supports overseas subsidiaries. Crafton spent trillion-unit operating funds on subsidiary-related work, providing 275 billion won to overseas game developer SDS last year and spending 844.7 billion won to acquire Unknownworlds.

Krafton's first-quarter sales reached 538.7 billion won, up 3 percent from a year earlier and 13.7 percent from the previous quarter. A Krafton official said, "It is difficult to confirm the details because we are under investigation," but added, "We are faithfully investigating."
