[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok visited the Korea Exchange on the 22nd for the first time as the head of the prosecution and expressed his willingness to sternly punish a series of recent unfair transactions.

Lee visited the exchange and met with Chairman Sohn Byung-doo and held a meeting of related agencies to discuss investigations into recent unfair transactions, including the plunge from Societe Generale Securities. Shin Bong-soo, head of the anti-corruption department at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, was also present.

"We will deprive unfair trade criminals of and recover their criminal profits and make them take root in our society that they will never enter the financial market again," President Lee said.

He declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. "We have already arrested eight people in connection with the SG Securities scandal," President Lee said. "We can't elaborate on the incident because it is an ongoing case, but we are dealing with it quickly."
