Contractor Employee Dies in Accident at Samsung Display Asan Campus

[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] A contractor employee tragically died while working at Samsung Display’s Asan campus. The company is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.

According to industry sources, at approximately 12:30 p.m. on December 23, a 60-year-old contractor, identified as Mr. A, was caught in machinery while performing equipment maintenance at Samsung Display’s Asan 2 Campus in Tangjeong-myeon, Asan, Chungnam.

Mr. A was immediately transported to a hospital by the company’s emergency response team but succumbed to his injuries.

Police and labor authorities issued a partial work suspension at the site. The facility, which employs more than 50 full-time workers, falls under the scope of Korea’s Serious Accidents Punishment Act. Authorities plan to investigate potential violations of the Industrial Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
