[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] South Korea’s First Lady Kim Kun-hee will appear before the special prosecutor’s office on August 18 for a second round of questioning, following her arrest last week.

According to the office of Independent Counsel Min Jung-ki, Kim is scheduled to attend questioning at 10 a.m. on Sunday. “Through her attorney, Ms. Kim has confirmed her appearance,” the team said in a press notice.

Initially, her legal representatives had expressed uncertainty about the timing due to her health condition and ongoing medical treatment, but ultimately agreed to comply with the summons.

This marks the second interrogation since Kim’s detention order was issued on August 12 on concerns of potential evidence destruction. She first appeared before investigators on August 14, two days after being taken into custody.
