[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] BigHit Music, a label under HYBE, has appointed Shin Seon-jeong as its new CEO, making him the youngest leader among HYBE’s label CEOs. Born in 1984, Shin is five years younger than Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR (born 1979).

Shin joined the company, which was previously known as BigHit Entertainment, in 2010, and played a key role in the early development and success of BTS. He worked in various capacities, including as the head of HYBE’s Training & Development (T&D) division, where he focused on developing and operating trainee selection and education programs tailored to each label’s unique characteristics.

Shin's efforts in nurturing talent have resulted in the successful debut of artists such as BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, and &TEAM. His achievements were recognized with two prestigious honors: he was named to Billboard’s 40 Under 40 list in 2022 and included in Billboard Women in Music 2023 in the 'Multi Sector' category for his significant impact on the music industry.

With his appointment, BigHit Music is expected to strengthen its growth and global competitiveness, leveraging Shin’s expertise in talent development and artist training. His leadership is expected to enhance the label's structure and expand its business operations.
