[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Daishin Securities is planning to sell its headquarters building in Euljiro, Seoul, 'Daeshin 343 (formerly Daishin Finance Center)'. It is to exceed 3 trillion won in equity capital, which is a qualification requirement for a comprehensive financial investment business operator (final investment company).

According to the financial investment industry on the 18th, Daishin Securities recently set a short-term management goal of applying for a comprehensive financial investment business during the first half of next year at a management meeting attended by major executives. Of the 61 securities firms in Korea, only nine have crossed the threshold of final investment.

Daishin Securities, the only securities firm that has equity capital exceeding KRW 2 trillion, has been cited as a strong candidate to enter the next final investment company. As of the end of March this year, it is worth about 2.3 trillion won. The industry estimates the sale amount of Euljiro office building to be between 600 billion and 700 billion won.

Daishin Securities plans to diversify its business by entering the final investment company. If designated as a final investment company, the corporate credit limit will increase from 100% to 200% of its equity capital. Prime Brokerage Service (PBS), which provides hedge fund management services, is also available. It will also be possible to exchange foreign currency, not for investment purposes.
