[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Former Bithumb Holdings CEO Lee Sang-joon (54) and professional golfer Ahn Sung-hyun (42), who are suspected of taking illegal fees to list coins, denied the charges in their first trial.

In the first trial held at the Seoul Southern District Court on the 21st, Lee's lawyer said he consistently denies the charges.

According to the prosecution, Lee and Ahn are accused of receiving 3 billion won in cash, two luxury watches worth 400 million won, and receiving high-end restaurant membership cards (such as breach of trust), along with a request from businessman Kang Jong-hyun (41) to list A-Coin on the exchange Bithumb from September to November 2021.

Kang also asked former CEO Lee to list the A-coin quickly between January and March last year, giving him a total of 44 million won worth of luxury goods, including two 30 million won worth of luxury bags and clothes.

In addition, he admitted that he had never received watches and clothing, and that the restaurant had used it to a minimum extent. He added that he received a luxury bag, but it was not in the name of solicitation.

Kang, who is accused of soliciting money and valuables, admitted to all charges. B (38), an official of A coin issuer accused of accomplice, denied the charges.
