[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The last day of stock trading this year (the closing date) is the 28th. The opening date of the new year's stock market is Jan. 2 next year, which will begin at 10 a.m., an hour later than usual.

The Korea Exchange announced on the 14th that it will designate the 29th as the end of the year. So the final trading day is the 28th. Shares must be purchased by the 26th to receive dividends from listed companies that set the end of December as the standard date for settlement dividends.

The dividend date is the next day, the 27th. The stocks purchased that day do not have the right to end-of-year settlement dividends.

The New Year's opening date is January 2, 2024. The trading hours will be changed according to the opening ceremony of the stock market. Regular markets such as the stock market, KOSDAQ and KONEX markets will postpone their opening hours by one hour from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The closing time is 3:30 p.m. as usual.

The after-hours market before the opening of the market is postponed by one hour, and the after-hours market is the same as now.
