[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] SK Hynix decided to raise wages by 4.5% when its quarterly operating profit turned to surplus.

SK Hynix's labor and management held wage negotiations on the 26th and tentatively agreed to set the increase rate at 4.5% in total, but implement it when quarterly operating profit turns into a surplus. The wage increase from January this year will be paid retroactively when turning into a surplus.

If the company makes a quarterly operating profit surplus next year after this year, it will not raise wages this year. The 2023 wage increase agreed upon by labor and management will be applied retroactively to the time of confirming the surplus next year.

SK Hynix's labor and management produced the results less than a month after wage negotiations began. It is heard that labor and management agreed to overcome the semiconductor recession that has continued since last year. SK Hynix's labor union strategically judged for the benefit of its members and struggled with the company's concern of maintaining its pride while overcoming difficult situations.
