[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Eastsoft (CEO Jung Sang-won) achieved a surplus in the second quarter. This is the result of promoting artificial intelligence (AI) human service business.
Eastsoft said in a tentative announcement on the 11th that its second-quarter sales reached 23.5 billion won, up 9.4 percent from a year earlier. The operating profit is 1.4 billion won.
The company cited the vitalization of its core business AI human service business as the reason for the surplus. The project is currently strengthening its position in domestic and foreign markets and securing growth momentum in the second half of the year. The domestic market is rapidly introducing the service to various industries such as education, finance, and elderly care. As we started to collaborate with Microsoft in June this year, we have secured opportunities to enter global growth.
Eastsoft says the new business from the AI human business model is also growing rapidly. 'AI Character Service' launched with Getty Images Korea is preparing to enter overseas markets.
In addition, strong software (SW) business and continued growth of AI-based iWare virtual fitting commerce 'Rounds' were also cited as reasons for the surplus.
The company recorded sales of 43.5 billion won and operating loss of 2.4 billion won in the first half of this year. Operating profit and loss improved by about 1.4 billion won compared to the first quarter due to improved performance in the second quarter.
