Doosan Group Chairman Park Jung-won's eldest son, joined Doosan

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Doosan Group started the management of the 5th generation.

According to the business community, it was belatedly known that Park Sang-soo, the eldest son of Doosan Group Chairman Park Jung-won, joined Doosan Group's holding company in September.

Born in 1994, Park joined Doosan's holding company CSO (Chief Strategy Officer) New Business Strategy Team and began taking management classes in earnest. I am in charge of establishing a group-wide business strategy and planning a new business.

Park graduated from Cornell University's Department of Hotel Management in 2019 and served as a researcher specializing in semiconductors at Korea Investment & Securities from 2020 to early this year.

Park drew attention from the business community earlier this year when he bought 9.1 billion won worth of Doosan shares. Chief Park owns a total of 132,380 shares in Doosan, with a 0.8% stake.

Park is not the first of Doosan's owner families to join a 5-year-old Doosan affiliate. This is the second time after Park Sang-woo, the eldest son of Doosan Group Vice Chairman and Doosan Energy Chairman Park Ji-won.

Park Sang-woo worked as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group from 2018 to early 2022 In 2022, Doosan Group's fuel cell manufacturer, Doosan Fuel Cell US corporation, moved to Hi-Exium and is working as a part leader. High Excium is in Connecticut, USA. Park, who is the same age as Park, majored in political science at the University of Chicago.

A total of seven fourth-generation people are currently participating in the management of Doosan Group, including Doosan Group Chairman Park Jung-won and Doosan Group Vice Chairman Park Ji-won.

There are Park Jin-won, the eldest son of former chairman Park Yong-sung, his second son Park Seok-won, president of Doosan, Park Tae-won, vice chairman of Hancom, the eldest son of former chairman Park Yong-hyun, his second son Park Hyung-won, president of Doosan Bobcat Korea, and his third son Park In-won, president of Doosan Robotics.
