[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Apple has ordered an additional organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel for the iPhone to Samsung Display.
According to the industry on the 23rd, Apple has ordered an additional iPhone 14 OLED panel to Samsung Display. The scale is between 10 million and 15 million units, and mass production will soon begin. Samsung Display is preparing raw materials for production.
The model Apple additionally ordered is a 6.1-inch OLED for the iPhone 14 general model. The iPhone 14 series is divided into general (6.1 inches), plus (6.7 inches), pro (6.1 inches), and promax (6.7 inches).
Samsung Display is virtually exclusively supplying high-performance models for Pro and Promax, while the general and plus models are shared with multiple other manufacturers. Samsung is expected to increase its share of entry-level models with this additional order.
