aespa to Receive 'Billboard Women in Music' Award [Billboard Official X (Formerly Twitter)] |
[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SM Entertainment announced on Thursday that its girl group aespa will perform at Japan’s largest music festival, ‘Summer Sonic 2025,’ taking place in Tokyo this August.
The festival is scheduled for August 16–17 at Zozo Marine Stadium & Makuhari Messe in Tokyo and Expo ‘70 Commemorative Park in Osaka. aespa will be part of the Tokyo lineup.
aespa officially debuted in Japan on July 3, 2023, with the single "Hot Mess" and later embarked on a four-city, nine-show arena tour that drew a total of 100,000 fans. They also made history as the first foreign female act to perform at Tokyo Dome for two consecutive years, selling out even restricted-view seats and attracting around 94,000 fans over two days.
‘Summer Sonic’ is a major urban music festival in Japan that draws over 200,000 attendees annually. The 2025 lineup includes aespa alongside Camila Cabello, The Prodigy, Fall Out Boy, and Japanese band Official Hige Dandism, among nearly 100 globally renowned artists.
Meanwhile, aespa will continue their second world tour, ‘2024-25 aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK : Parallel Line,’ following their North American run, with a show in London on March 2.
