[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Humasis announced on the 3rd that it has reported Celltrion to the Fair Trade Commission (hereinafter referred to as the "Fair Trade Commission") a violation of the Act on Fair Subcontracting (hereinafter referred to as the "Subcontracting Act").

The Humasis is responsible for Celltrion's notification of unfair termination of its "joint research and product supply contract" and is filing a lawsuit for about $ 41 million in goods and 70 billion won in damages. The company continues to take a tough stance on lawsuits, including damages claims filed by Celltrion in February last year.

Humasis claimed that Celltrion's demand for unfair unit price reduction and unilateral notification of contract termination violates Article 11 of the prohibition of reduction and Article 8 of the prohibition of unfair consignment cancellation, respectively.

Humasis is also proceeding with a lawsuit for goods and damages based on Celltrion's refusal to fulfill its obligations and breach of contract. When responding to Celltrion's lawsuit early last year, the company accepted Celltrion's request for suspension of production and extension of the deadline, but could not accept it because it demanded an excessive price cut compared to the previous one.
