[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) has launched an investigation into DB Group over allegations of intentional omission of some affiliates in their submitted documents.

The FTC is examining whether DB Group’s affiliates, including 'Donggok Social Welfare Foundation', and its associated companies like 'Samdong Hongsan' and 'Billtech', were properly included in the group’s submissions.

The investigation will determine if there was intentionality behind the omissions.

The FTC receives designated materials from large business groups (with total assets exceeding 5 trillion won) annually before their designation. Any falsehoods or omissions in the submitted documents can constitute a violation of the Fair Trade Act.

If intentional and significant violations are confirmed, it could lead to legal actions against the group's head.
