[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] A Jin Air flight scheduled to depart from Japan for Incheon International Airport was canceled due to a mechanical issue. The aircraft involved is the same model as the Jeju Air flight that crashed near Muan International Airport, killing 179 out of 181 passengers.

According to News1 on Thursday, Jin Air flight LJ350, which was scheduled to depart from Kitakyushu Airport in Japan for Incheon Airport at 9:30 a.m., encountered a problem with the horizontal stabilizer control system while preparing for takeoff.

Jin Air determined that the repairs would take significant time due to the need for parts replacement and decided to cancel the flight. There were 87 passengers onboard the aircraft. Jin Air provided meal vouchers to the passengers and rebooked them on a subsequent flight, LJ352.

The affected aircraft is a Boeing 737-800, the same model as the Jeju Air flight involved in the Muan International Airport disaster.
