[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, November 17 — Lotte Chilsung Beverage’s alcohol business is losing ground, with its revenue share falling below 20% for the first time in 15 years, driven by prolonged weakness in its core beer segment amid sluggish domestic consumption.

According to regulatory filings, alcohol accounted for 19.7% of Lotte Chilsung’s cumulative Q3 revenue—its first dip below 20% since 2012. After the company merged Lotte Liquor BG in 2011, the alcohol division had consistently contributed 20–30% of total sales.

Following Lotte Chilsung’s full-scale entry into the beer market in 2014, alcohol revenue hovered around 30% through the late 2010s. However, the share began to decline in 2019 and has continued downwards: 29.9% (2019) → 28.2% (2020) → 28.3% (2021) → 28.5% (2022) → 26.0% (2023) → 21.2% (2024).

In real terms, alcohol revenue also fell, totaling KRW 193.3 billion in Q3, down 5.3% year-over-year.
