[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul – Kakao is set to integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its flagship messaging app KakaoTalk, enabling users to access generative AI services directly within the platform.
According to industry sources on September 4, Kakao will introduce a ChatGPT function within the app’s “Chat” tab. Similar to starting a conversation with a friend, users will be able to launch ChatGPT simply by tapping a dedicated icon—without leaving the KakaoTalk application.
In addition, Kakao is considering expanding ChatGPT functionality into the app’s “# Search” feature within chatrooms. The company aims to combine ChatGPT with its proprietary large language model (LLM), “Kanana”, to deliver more advanced and refined search results.
