[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, November 18 — KakaoTalk has added a new “Send Quietly” feature that allows users to deliver messages without triggering sound, vibration, or push notifications on the recipient’s device, regardless of the recipient’s notification settings.

Users can activate the feature by typing a message, long-pressing the send button, and selecting Send Quietly. The option is also available for sending photos and videos.

Kakao said the update reflects user demand for quieter communication options, similar to existing features like “Silent Exit” and silent chat rooms.

The latest update also introduces a new Favorites Chat Folder, which displays only chats marked as favorites. The folder’s visibility can be adjusted in settings, and starred chatrooms are labeled with a star icon.
