[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] The meeting between Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun and Toyota Motor Chairman Akio reportedly took place in Japan last month.

According to industry sources on the 4th, Chairman Chung visited Toyota's headquarters in Aichi, Japan, at the invitation of Toyota Chairman last month. As it is a meeting between the heads of the first and third largest groups in global car sales, it is heard that they discussed mid- to long-term cooperation in future mobility such as hydrogen cars, a key future business.

The two groups are active in expanding the hydrogen car market in the global market. Although growth in the hydrogen market is still slow, cooperation between the two companies is expected as it is likely to be a major car model in the future along with electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, a Hyundai official said, "The schedule of the management is not confirmed."
