[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Kim Hong-il, chairman of the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), will hold his first meeting with representatives of the three mobile carriers (SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus) on the 22nd. They will discuss practical ways to cut household communication costs after the revision of the Enforcement Decree of the Mobile Phone Distribution Act.

According to the Korea Communications Commission on the 11th, Chairman Kim will meet with Yoo Young-sang, president of SK Telecom, Kim Young-sup, CEO of KT, and Hwang Hyun-sik, president of LG Uplus, at the Gwacheon Government Complex on the 22nd to explain the purpose of revising the Enforcement Decree of the Terminal Distribution Structure Improvement Act and revising the notification. Executives of handset manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics and Apple Korea are also expected to attend the site.

The Korea Communications Commission announced in January that it would push for the abolition of the law on the distribution of military equipment at a forum on people's livelihoods. However, the revision of the bill was time-consuming because it had to be approved by the National Assembly, so it was revised from the enforcement ordinance to minimize confusion between operators and consumers until the bill was abolished. Chairman Kim is expected to explain the purpose of the law revision and ask the operator for cooperation.

Chairman of the state affairs commission Kim and representatives of the three mobile telecommunication companies are expected to discuss ways to reduce household telecommunication costs, including lowering telecommunication costs and launching mid- to low-priced smartphones.
