[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, South Korea – June 12, 2025 — Foreign investors returned to net buying in the South Korean stock market last month, marking a significant shift after 10 consecutive months of net selling.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), foreign investors recorded a net purchase of KRW 2.01 trillion (approximately USD 1.45 billion) worth of Korean listed stocks in May.

As of the end of May, foreign ownership of Korean listed equities stood at KRW 748.8 trillion, representing approximately 27% of the total market capitalization.

Market analysts interpret this reversal as a signal of growing foreign confidence in Korean equities, driven by expectations of economic recovery, tech sector strength, and favorable valuation levels compared to other major markets.
