Hanjin Reports Modest Revenue Growth but Double-Digit Drop in Operating Profit in Q1

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Hanjin posted a slight increase in revenue for the first quarter of this year, while operating profit declined sharply by double digits.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service on April 13, Hanjin reported consolidated operating profit of KRW 16.9 billion for the first quarter, down 38.1% from KRW 27.3 billion a year earlier.

Revenue, however, rose 5.6% year-on-year to KRW 769.8 billion, compared with KRW 729.1 billion in the same period last year.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, both revenue and operating profit declined, falling 3.3% and 1.2%, respectively.
