Hyundai Department Store Group Denies Reported Acquisition Talks for SK Stoa

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul – Hyundai Department Store Group on September 9 denied media reports suggesting it was reviewing an acquisition of SK Stoa, a T-commerce subsidiary of SK Group.



A spokesperson for Hyundai Department Store Group stated: “We are not reviewing any such acquisition.” SK Stoa also dismissed the speculation, adding: “We have never considered a sale.”

One of Korea’s leading T-commerce (TV-commerce) companies

Launched in 2015 as B Shopping under SK Broadband, spun off as SK Stoa in 2017

Fully acquired by SK Telecom in 2019 and integrated as a subsidiary

Reported KRW 302.3 billion in revenue and KRW 8.1 billion in operating profit in 2023, continuing steady growth



Earlier, SK Telecom was reportedly considering divesting SK Stoa but has since put the sale process on hold.
