[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, August 11 — DL E&C announced on Sunday that CEO Kang Yoon-ho, Chief Safety Officer (CSO) Ha Jung-min, along with senior executives, team leaders, and site managers, have tendered their resignations following a fatal accident at an apartment construction site in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province. The decision comes just three days after a worker in his 50s fell to his death on August 8.

In a statement, the company expressed its condolences, saying, “We mourn the tragic loss of life and extend our deepest apologies to the bereaved family.” DL E&C stressed that all executives and site managers would “put their positions on the line” in order to ensure a robust and reliable safety management system.

The company also announced it had immediately suspended operations at all construction sites and launched an emergency, company-wide safety inspection. “No work will resume until safety is fully verified,” the statement said. “With a do-or-die commitment and the company’s future at stake, we will ensure our sites are completely safe.”

DL E&C plans to hold a company-wide safety resolution rally for all employees, including headquarters staff and workers at sites where operations resume after passing safety inspections.
