[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Lee Jae-yong ranked first as the most trusted chaebol leader in South Korea for the second consecutive quarter, according to a recent public survey.
The poll, conducted by News Tomato from March 30 to April 1 among 2,005 adults nationwide, showed that 52.8% of respondents selected Lee as the most trusted business group leader. He was followed by Chung Eui-sun (14.7%), Kim Seung-youn (8.5%), and Koo Kwang-mo (6.2%).
At the group level, more than 60% of respondents identified Samsung Group as the most trusted conglomerate, followed by LG Group (10.7%) and Hyundai Motor Group (9.0%).
Lee also ranked highest in perceived social contribution at 56.3%. In contrast, Shin Dong-bin remained near the bottom across categories, including social contribution, ethics, and management capability.
Meanwhile, Chey Tae-won was identified as the leader having the most negative social impact, selected by 26.1% of respondents, followed by Shin Dong-bin (15.0%) and Kim Seung-youn (7.2%).
The survey applied weighted sampling based on demographics from resident registration data, with a margin of error of ±2.2 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
