[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] On August 11, Fox News reported that Boeing has secured a significant contract with the U.S. Air Force. The deal, valued at $2.56 billion, involves the delivery of two E-7A Wedgetail airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft.

The E-7A Wedgetail, based on the Boeing 737, is equipped with advanced electronic systems and a fixed radar antenna mounted on the fuselage. The contract includes not only the production of these aircraft but also their development, training, and support until they are fully operational.

The agreement is seen as a reaffirmation of the long-standing partnership between Boeing and the U.S. Air Force, despite previous safety concerns associated with the company.
