[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL – Naver announced on July 30 that it will continue its “Connected Work” program in 2025, allowing employees to freely choose when and where they work, while modestly increasing mandatory in-office collaboration requirements.

Launched in July 2022, Connected Work lets employees select between:

R-type: Fully remote work (up to 5 days a week)

O-type: Office-based work (minimum 3 days a week)

Selections are made every six months based on team and project needs.

Starting January 2025, Naver will expand its Co-Work Day program — when first-line teams work together in person — from two to four days per month (recommended once a week). The minimum in-office time for those days will also rise from 4 hours to 6 hours (excluding breaks).

Naver said the system will undergo annual reviews to assess its effectiveness. Employees will select their 2025 work type this November.

The company emphasized that the core principle of flexibility remains unchanged while encouraging more collaboration and team cohesion through the minor adjustments.
